Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder or adhesive capsulitis is an extremely painful condition that restricts shoulder movement. Typically it progresses over a number of months to years, during which time the shoulder becomes increasingly stiff and painful. The end result in severe cases is almost complete cessation of joint movement.

This condition is self-limiting, though symptoms can persist for several years.

Osteopathic treatment helps to increase shoulder movement, reduce pain and limit the longevity of the symptoms. Osteopathic treatment also addresses the secondary complications that stem from this condition. For example, you may find that your back, neck and shoulder blade become achy as the shoulder gets stiffer.
